Honestly it's a little stiff in the beginning but that's what leather does it softens up over time and this is awesome. I don't notice the heat and it feels great on the hand. I'm gonna buy a second one

Like others have said, when it arrives, the leather is very rigid and needs to be treated before it can be easily used. I used a LOT of Neatsfoot oil on it before it was supple enough to really use. Also, I would like it more if it was bigger. I have average size hands for a guy and you can see in the picture, it's a tight fit.

On a positive note, I bake and cook with high temps using cast iron and this worked really well. I'm looking forward to seeing how it ages.

3 stars only because it's leather. Fit is uncomfortable, leather is stiff, and I expected the leather to be thicker since I would be lifting a cast iron pot. Had to return it.

Wish they came in a much larger size. I can't get my hands inside them even to start to loosen up the very stiff leather. I have bought several items from them in the passed and the quality of material and the craftsmanship is a 5+🌟 just ain't what I was expecting, but I should've known I'm not an average size dude. But I will continue to buy and support this company simply because of them helping others.

I really want to love this. I have been using it religiously since Christmas (2020) and thought it would be great. Right off the bat i noticed it was incredibly stiff, being it is ambidextrous the thumb feels unnatural and pulls your thumb backwards. The ambidextrous thumb also causes problem with grabbing, the seam around the edge makes you grab pans right on the seam of the thumb with little surface area and control over adjusting grip on hot pan.

I have been working on the pliability of the leather by damping it with water twisting thumb and rolling it up tight them allowing it to dry and apply leather conditioner to hydrate make it more usable. I had little success through my efforts and the most notable difference I can find is from oiling the leather.

I've had it on bday and Christmas list for a couple years expecting it to be a great gift idea for someone to get me. The leather quality and finish is excellent and very high quality. For the price I wish it would be right hand/ left hand option so you can grab with the pad of the thumb.
