I mainly bought it for the thumb symbol. But turns out they have a secondary use they make incredible blade protectors for my wood carving knives! So I can pay $15 for a sheath for a knife or I can pay $20 for six of them. Thank you hide & drink!
I purchased the 2 sets as sheaths for 58mm Victorinox Swiss Army knives. I have put 58mm Midnite Managers in the Thumbnail size leather thimble model and 58mm Midnite Mini-Champs in the Index finger model. At $3 per sheath they are a bargain compared to the hand made leather sheaths for 58mm Victorinox Swiss Army knives I bought on eBay from suppliers in the Ukraine before the war which cost between $5 to $8 (plus shipping costs) depending on model layer size & sheath color. I have bought several times in 2023 hand made soft leather Hide & Drink, EDC Pocket Slips for 85mm and 91mm sized Victorinox knives so I knew that their leather pouches are good quality.
I kept breaking my pointer fingernail during games of pickleball. These thimbles fit nicely over my right hand leather game glove. They stay on with no problem. Manicures no longer need expensive repairs. They are durable, well made, signed by the maker, who clearly shows pride in her quality of work!
Fantastic thimbles, but are fairly stiff; I recommend breaking them in by pushing a hand tool handle into them for stretching.
Size makes them effective for covering blades of smaller carving knifes. Not puncture or cut proof by any means, but meets my needs for my tool roll. I use ANSI 9 gloves when carving, so not sure how well these will protect fingers when actively carving.
